Welcome Centre

In order to meet the needs of our growing English as an Additional Language population (approx. 40% of our student population), as of September 2011, FRC will be introducing a Welcome Centre located in our school library.

After having their English language proficiency assessed, beginner EAL students will be grouped for levelled instruction.  They will spend their mornings working on language development with specialist teachers and auditing options classes in the afternoons.

Through this process, our EAL students will be better equipped to participate in regular academic classes in the future.

In 2015, we also introduced Literacy, Academics and Language classes to support our growing number of students with little to no literacy in their first language.
